This EV prototype is unlike any other Acura NSX out there
Honda's four-motor electric racer will participate in next weekend's Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
This NSX is unique, running entirely on electricity.
Each wheel has its own individual electric motor, allowing power to be shuffled to each wheel with the utmost precision.
If all four wheels require different power ouputs in order to maximize traction, the system can make it happen.
It's an extreme version of the electric-based AWD system seen on the production versions of the Acura NSX, Acura RLX and the forthcoming 2017 Acura MDX.
A previous version of this prototype existed under the body of a Honda CR-Z hatchback.
