These are the 10 best car interiors, according to Wards Auto (pictures)

Every year, Wards Auto compiles a list of the 10 best automotive interiors. What follows are those cars, with Roadshow's own pictures wherever applicable. We've included links to reviews, if you want to read our take on some of these cars, as well.

Andrew Krok
Cars are Andrew's jam, as is strawberry. After spending years as a regular ol' car fanatic, he started working his way through the echelons of the automotive industry, starting out as social-media director of a small European-focused garage outside of Chicago. From there, he moved to the editorial side, penning several written features in Total 911 Magazine before becoming a full-time auto writer, first for a local Chicago outlet and then for CNET Cars.

Audi TTS

The Audi TTS is the brand's hopped-up version of its TT, which rides on the same platform as the new Volkswagen Golf and the Audi A3.

Inside, everything's focused on the driver. There's no central screen for the cabin -- instead, it's all tucked into the instrument binnacle, which Audi calls Virtual Cockpit. The HVAC controls are hidden inside the vents themselves.

BMW's luxury leviathan is all new for the 2016 model year.

The new 7's interior is much more streamlined than before, with loads of emphasis on visual width, gesture controls baked into the infotainment screen and some very handsome trim just under that.

The XT5 is the replacement for Cadillac's old midsize SUV, the SRX.

The emphasis is once again on simplicity and visual width, with loads of horizontal lines, a simplified collection of physical switchgear and a redesigned steering wheel.

The interior is leaps and bounds ahead of its predecessor, with a big infotainment screen above two HVAC vents. This year marks a renewed focus on material choice and building an interior that can be sensible for a daily driver.

Chrysler Pacifica

What was once the Chrysler Town & Country is now the Chrysler Pacifica, the brand's latest minivan offering.

Chrysler Pacifica

Whereas the T&C's interior was a drab, sad affair, the Pacifica keeps things fresh with a whole new layout. It pulls design inspiration from other Chrysler vehicles, as noted in the rotary shift dial and the massive screen resting between the gauges.

Honda Civic

The exterior isn't the only nice thing about the 2016 Civic.

Honda Civic

While the interior isn't radically, ridiculously different than the Civic it replaces, the new getup makes better use of the gauges and the space between the front seats. Materials quality is also much improved.

Lexus RX

Lexus RX

The old Lexus RX was a bit of an also-ran, stylistically speaking. The new RX is anything but.

The interior is much sportier now, with a revised steering wheel and a shifter assembly that no longer looks like it was taken from a bus or an old station wagon. All in all, it's significantly more handsome than before.

Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class

Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class

Mercedes rolled out the GLC-Class as a replacement for the boxy old GLK.

The GLC's interior follows in the footsteps of the C-Class, with a simple, elegant layout featuring a flowing center stack and a floating infotainment screen just above it.

The original "Four Door Sports Car" returns for 2016 with a brand-new look.

The interior's significantly busier than before, with a sportier look to just about every inch of it.

Volvo XC90

Volvo XC90

It wouldn't be a best-of list without the Volvo XC90, which earned near-unanimous praise from the media after its release.

Volvo XC90

The interior is elegant, with a focus on premium material use. We're smitten with the Sensus Connect infotainment screen, as well, which features a Tesla-like portrait orientation.
