Featuring variants that appeal to either lifestyle or "real truck" fans, the Concept X-Class is still a Mercedes-Benz through and through.
Why build one concept pickup when you can build two?
The Concept X-Class is the latest entry in the Mercedes-Benz Vans lineup.
The Concept X-Class is split into two different variants -- Stylish Explorer and Powerful Adventurer.
Powerful Adventurer, seen here, goes for the beefy approach with big fenders, off-road tires, a winch and an open-style tailgate.
Stylish Explorer is more of a "lifestyle enhancer," with a focus on luxury items like large wheels and wraparound LED taillights.
When it goes on sale in various markets around the world in 2017, it will all exist under a single X-Class badge.
Mercedes-Benz didn't say much about powertrains, but we do know the top-tier X-Class will come with a V6 diesel engine and permanent all-wheel drive.
The AWD system will feature differential locks and a transfer case.
The truck will be produced as part of a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and Renault-Nissan, which supplies the chassis from its Navara pickup.
There's no word yet on whether or not it will appear in the US. Keep on scrollin' to check out the more "sensible" X-Class variant!
