The Jaguar XKSS is back, and it's built as close to 1957 spec as possible
Jaguar Classic will rebuild the nine XKSS vehicles lost in a 1957 fire, with a price tag of about $1.5 million each.
This is a proper piece of history right here.
The Jaguar XKSS was the road-legal variant of the D-Type racecar.
Steve McQueen had one in a shade similar to this.
It sports a straight-six engine with three Weber carburetors.
Nine of the 25 cars built were destroyed in a fire in 1957.
Jaguar Classic is now rebuilding those nine cars from the ground up, using the same identification numbers.
Each car should take around 10,000 man-hours to complete.
The cars will be built using imperial measurements in the exact 1957 specifications.
The only real changes will be made for safety reasons, like revised fuel tank components to accommodate modern gasoline.
Good luck getting your hands on one.
