The Ford GT '66 Heritage Edition is a throwback to the Le Mans of yore

50 years after its first-ever Le Mans victory, the GT scored another class win in the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans.

This special-edition supercar is limited to unique aesthetic appointments.

The car's black paint can be had in either matte or gloss finishes.

The paint's monotony is broke up with silver stripes, satin-gold wheels and white #2 emblems on the hood and doors.

The #2 is a reference to the #2 Ford GT that won Le Mans in 1966, piloted by Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon.

The exterior also features plenty of exposed carbon fiber.

Inside, there's even more exposed carbon fiber, gold brightwork on the instrument panel and yet another reference to the #2 racer.

The seats, steering wheel, instrument panel and pillars are all wrapped in black leather.

Ford is limiting its Heritage Edition to 2017 models only.

The GT's Heritage Edition will be produced in limited quantities, so if you're already in line to buy one, you might want to act fast.
