The 2018 Toyota RAV4 Adventure is ready for... adventure, duh
It's the most rugged RAV4 yet, which to be fair, is not a hard act to beat.
Toyota's new RAV4 Adventure for the 2018 model year is aimed squarely at young, active families.
To improve its off-road capabilities, the Adventure model's ride height is a half-inch higher than the regular RAV4.
To be better equipped to tow light loads, the RAV4 Adventure gets a standard tow prep package that adds an upgraded radiator and additional engine oil and transmission fluid coolers.
Like all RAV4 models, the Adventure comes standard with hill-start assist control and trailer sway control.
Exclusive styling touches include larger overfender flares, lower body cladding and special Adventure badges.
Black styling elements include 18-inch wheels, headlight bezels, fog lamp surrounds and roof rails.
The Adventure model will be available with front-wheel drive with a limited-slip differential, or all-wheel drive.
The cabin is dressed with unique trim pieces, Adventure door sills, all-weather floor and cargo mats and a leather-wrapped shift knob.
For an additional power source when you're camping out in the middle of nowhere, a 120-volt power outlet is standard in the cargo area.
If you're in the market for a compact crossover that's a bit better suited for a weekend expedition out of the city but aren't super hardcore, the 2018 Toyota RAV4 Adventure goes on sale in September. Click through for a bunch more photos from the Chicago Auto Show 2017.
