The 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT is a hatchback with hustle
Sporting two available engines and a whole bunch of tech, the Elantra GT takes what's good about the sedan and adds some extra cargo capacity.
When is a Hyundai Elantra not a Hyundai Elantra? When it's a 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT!
The Elantra GT takes the goodness of the sedan and gives it a beefier butt for improved cargo capacity.
The hatchback is 22 percent stiffer than the model it replaces, and the body-in-white weighs 61 pounds less.
It's like a Volkswagen Golf, if the Vee-Dub had any sense of style.
The base Elantra GT makes do with a 162-horsepower, 2.0-liter I4 engine.
Move up to the Elantra GT Sport, though, and prepare to be treated to a 201-horsepower, 1.6-liter I4.
The base GT can be had with a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic.
The GT Sport replaces the six-speed automatic option with a seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission.
The 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT arrives at dealers this summer, and pricing is still TBD.
