Subtle upgrades underpin the refreshed 2017 Lexus IS (pictures)
While the drivetrain and all its corresponding components remain the same, Lexus made some slight adjustments to its aesthetics, as well as upgrading its suite of safety systems.
Lexus left the majority of the aesthetics alone because it's proved popular with buyers.
It did tweak the car's much-maligned "spindle" grille, however, as well as its taillights.
The headlights have been redesigned, as well, although the coolest looking ones are "not US spec," according to the automaker.
The front air intakes are now larger as well, giving the car a more aggressive look.
There are also some new exhaust tips tucked under the rear bumper.
Inside, Lexus expanded the infotainment screen to 10.3 inches, up from 7.
There are also some new cupholders and a larger palm rest.
The gauge cluster underwent a slight redesign too.
Lexus also upgraded the IS's suite of safety systems.
The Lexus Safety System+ on the IS now includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane-departure mitigation and automatic high beams.
