Nissan's 'Star Wars' Altima inspired by First Order TIE fighter

The 2018 Nissan Altima got a radical TIE fighter-themed transformation. 

The custom car features 3D printed panels, a rounded windshield, a roof hatch, a full body wrap, light and sound effects.

The custom fabricated windshield is one of the coolest parts of the car.

The entire project took about 6 months to design, fabricate, and finalize. 

A car like this would definitely turn some heads on Los Angeles freeways; sadly, we didn't get a test drive.

The front end of the car has laser cannons that use the same 3D models as the TIE fighters in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi."

Each side has three TIE wing panels -- they're 3D printed and made to reflect a squad of spacecraft instead of a single fighter. 

The car's custom wrap is also pulled directly from texture and model files Lucasfilm provided to the Vehicle Effects team. 

Ready and waiting for a First Order Special Forces TIE pilot. 

We'd almost trade seeing "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" for this car....almost.

The car also has external speakers equipped, and can make the classic TIE fighter screeches and cannon sounds. 

After seeing these, we hope laser cannons are the next big car innovation.

Those TIE wing panels are serious business, but being able to rapid prototype via 3D printing definitely helped speed up the build process. 

We're 99.9% sure the Nissan logo doesn't show up on TIE fighters in the Star Wars universe, but maybe we haven't been looking close enough.

The back of the car doesn't have too many modifications, but it has clean lines. 

Attention, TIE pilots: Do not attempt to use the entry hatch as a sunroof while flying missions.
