Nissan's Rogue Warrior is ready to tackle all the snow (pictures)

Nissan unveiled one seriously crazy concept at the Montreal International Auto Show -- an all-wheel-drive crossover that's replaced its wheels with full-on snow treads.

Cars are Andrew's jam, as is strawberry. After spending years as a regular ol' car fanatic, he started working his way through the echelons of the automotive industry, starting out as social-media director of a small European-focused garage outside of Chicago. From there, he moved to the editorial side, penning several written features in Total 911 Magazine before becoming a full-time auto writer, first for a local Chicago outlet and then for CNET Cars.

The Nissan Rogue Warrior is, frankly, insane.

To celebrate the Rogue's sales success in the US, and to help showcase the crossover's AWD system, Nissan assembled this snow-loving beast.

The most obvious change is the addition of a massive set of snow treads.

The treads measure 30 inches tall, 48 inches long and 15 inches wide. That's a lot of contact patch.

Quebec-based company Motorsports in Action (MIA) was responsible for this build, utilizing the tread system from American Track Truck.

Other than some slight body modifications to clear the treads, and some snow guards, the Rogue is bone stock.

The treads give this Rogue a ride height of nearly two feet.

The Rogue Warrior is capable of storming through the snow at speeds up to 62 mph.

It's also capable of tackling 45-degree inclines.

The drivetrain remains the stock four-cylinder engine mated to a continuously variable transmission.

If you value your factory warranty, we highly suggest you not try this at home.

The car's official driver is 2015 Micra Cup champion Olivier Bédard.

Without those snow guards, the driver would likely be unable to see out of the car when the snow starts flying.

It's impressive that this was pulled off with only slight modifications beyond the treads themselves.

The Nissan Rogue (the regular one, not the Warrior) has experienced 25 consecutive months of record sales.

In fact, the Rogue is Nissan's best-selling vehicle at the moment.

No matter how many times you ask, Nissan will not build one of these for you.

Here's a photo that gives you an idea of just how different these two Rogues are.
