Nissan's BladeGlider concept is designed as an EV that's fun to drive

This ain't your average concept.

BladeGlider, which is an amazing name, was built as an electric vehicle that's also fun to drive.

Its rear wheels feature individual electric motors.

Net output is 268 horsepower and 521 pound-feet of torque.

It's not particularly fast, but it's quick enough. Top speed is a low 118 mph, but 60 mph arrives in less than five seconds.

Are these technically billionaire doors? I don't remember the specifics of that joke.

The rear end is a little bit BMW i8, a little bit DeltaWing.

The front and rear tracks are different, like DeltaWing, to improve aerodynamics and cut down on excess weight.

The interior looks like it was plucked right out of a Le Mans prototype.

The screens on either side of the wheel act as rearview mirrors, replacing physical mirrors.

Like a McLaren F1, the front seat sits in the center of the car, with two more seats behind it.

This thing is positively ridiculous, and I'm actually kind of sad it'll never make it to market in this form.

Then again, the crazy BMW i8 hybrid supercar could probably use some equally wacky competition...

With the complex angles going on here, I shudder to think what a car like this would actually cost.
