Nissan Leaf AT-EV is the electric rally car you never knew you wanted
This is an excellent thing to show someone who thinks the Leaf isn't good for much.
Believe it or not, this is a Nissan Leaf rally car.
Its driver is an EV advocate named Chris Ramsey, who runs a Twitter account called Plug In Adventures.
This Leaf will traverse 10,000 miles from the UK to Mongolia.
The Mongol Rally isn't timed, so there's no need to hustle too hard.
Its electric drivetrain is completely untouched.
Exterior mods include a roof rack with low-voltage LEDs, steel brake lines, a sump guard, mud flaps and new wheels and tires.
The front half of the interior is pristine, save for the addition of some all-weather rubber floor mats.
Ramsey removed the rear seats and seatbelts, though, helping contribute to a total weight loss of about 71 pounds.
Ramsey will stop along the route to tout the benefits of going electric.
Am I crazy in thinking this would be super fun to drive?
