The new Volkswagen Up is aimed at urban drivers and will launch in Europe in December. The Up will be on display at the Frankfurt auto show in September.
The two-door four-seater Up, is about 140 inches long, with a wheelbase of 95 inches. The supcompact Up is shorter than the Mini Cooper hardtop by about 7 inches.

The Up will be offered in three trim levels: Take Up, Move Up, and High Up.

Despite is petite size, the Up offers one of the longest wheelbase lengths in its segment. That, combined with a forward-mounted engine, promises a roomier ride.

At the car's market launch, Volkswagen will offer two models based on the High Up: Up Black and Up White.

The Up initially will come with a choice of five exterior colors. Interior colors will depend on the equipment line chosen.

Volkswagen has included a new Portable Infotainment Device (PID), developed with partner Navigon. The PID includes a satellite navigation system, an entertainment system, and a touch screen.

The Up will come with a choice of three-cylinder, 1.0-liter gas engine, with an output of either 59 horsepower or 74 horsepower. And a choice of transmission system, either a standard five-speed manual, or a six-speed automatic.

The Up offers 8.9 cubic feet storage. When the rear seat is folded down, that is expanded to 33 cubic feet of cargo space.
