Mopar @ SEMA 2012
When most people think "Mopar," they're thinking about powerful Dodge vehicles and big, brutish engines.
SRT Viper
There was plenty of that on hand at the 2012 SEMA Show in the Mopar booth. This SRT Viper's V-10 engine has been augmented with Mopar performance parts.
Dodge Challenger 'Daily Driver'
Every part on this Dodge Challenger's mods list (from the upgrades suspension components, to the Katzkin leather interior, to the Kicker stereo system) was accompanied by a Mopar product number. Almost anyone with a bit of know-how and a DIY spirit could recreate this car in their driveway.
Dodge Charger Juiced
This orange Dodge Charger Juiced (get it?) features a mix of Mopar parts and prototype components that boost its output to 650 horsepower while still remaining CARB-legal.
Dodge Dart Leadfoot Blue
The newest member of the Dodge family, the Dart, was also represented at the Mopar booth.
Dodge Dart Carbon Fire
This Dart's carbon fiber theme is pulled off using mostly prototype parts, but it represents the high level of customization available to Dart drivers.
Dart Slingshot
I've called the Dart "the new Neon" before. The Neon (and its SRT-4 variant) was embraced by the aftermarket in a way that Dodge's followup act, the Caliber, never was.
Abarth Venom
It's still odd for me to see the Fiat 500 sharing floor space with the likes of the Dodge Viper and Chrysler 300, but Mopar has embraced the zippy little ride and its Abarth variant.
Fiat 500 Beach Cruiser
This widebody 500 features heavily customized aesthetics, deep dish-style rims, and a roof rack complete with a surfboard.
Magneti Marelli Fiat Argento
Inspired by Magneti Marielli's racing heritage, this Abarth 500 is almost too Italian for the Mopar crowd.
Fiat Abarth Cafe Racer
This steely Abarth 500 draws most of its inspiration from the Cafe Racer style motorbike that is towed behind it.
Chrysler 300 Luxury
A pair of Chrysler 300s graced the Mopar booth. The 300 Luxury emphasized style enhancements.
Mopar '12 300
The other, dubbed the "Mopar '12 300," featured a stealthy back finish and modest performance upgrades. Both 300s were powered by the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8. Curiously, I saw no 300 SRT-8 in the booth.
One Lap Grand Cherokee SRT
This Grand Cherokee SRT was built with the One Lap of America in mind, an 8-day racing event that features street legal cars.
Little Red Express
The Little Red Express is one of the cooler trucks in the Mopar booth, featuring 22-inch wheels and unique dual, vertical exhaust stacks.
Power Ram
The Power Ram features a 3-inch lift and Mopar cold-air intake and cat-back exhaust.
Urban Ram
Rather than raise the Urban Ram up, Mopar lowered it closer to the tarmac with a performance-handling kit. Under the hood, a 392 Hemi crate engine breathes in through a cold-air intake and out through Mopar headers and dual exhaust.
Jeep Wrangler Sand Trooper
This Jeep Wranger has been modified with a 5.7-liter Hemi conversion kit, prototype eight-lug Beadlock wheels with 42-inch tires, and a laundry list of Mopar parts.
Jeep Wrangler JK-9
This Wrangler Unlimited has been converted into a pickup truck with the JK-8 conversion kit, a Mopar accessory that takes its cues from the Jeep Scrambler CJ-8 from the 1980s.
Jeep Cherokee Half & Half
This Jeep has a split personality. One half is bone stock, while the other has been upgraded with Mopar accessories, giving showgoers a before-and-after look.
