Lee Iacocca's 1991 Ferrari F40 could be yours

A unique 1991 Ferrari F40, built specifically for Lee Iacocca and with only 300 miles on the odometer, will be auctioned Friday, January 20, through RM Auctions.

The F40 was launched to celebrate Ferrari's 40th anniversary in 1987.

RM Auctions says the F40 has a "carbon-fiber and Kevlar-reinforced steel space frame chassis with composite body panels [which] was mated to an Evoluzione twin-turbocharged and intercooled four-cam, port-injected V-8 engine, controlled by a race-proven Weber-Marelli engine management system" that produces 471 bhp.

The F40 has a five-speed manual gearbox and a four-wheel independent suspension.

The F40 comes with a Ferrari Certificate of Origin dated October 12, 1990, a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency letter, Italian export paperwork, and an engraved "Built Especially for Lee Iacocca" card.

The original F40 units shipped with a suggested retail price of $400,000. This rare supercar should fetch between $650,000 and $750,000.
