Jaguar's E-type Zero is a vintage EV masterpiece
It might look like the classic 1968 Series 1.5 Roadster, but under the hood is a 21st century electric power train.
Take one part vintage E-type and one part electric drivetrain and you get the stunning E-type Zero, the latest labor of love from Jaguar.

The electric motor fits in the same location as the original six-cylinder XK engine.
Much of the interior remains the same, including the seats and the wooden steering wheel. However, modified instrumentation to go along with the modern electric power train.
The E-type Zero can go from 0-62 miles per hour in 5.5 seconds, a full second faster than the original E-type.
The small 40 kWh battery can only provide enough juice for 170 miles of driving.
The electric motor produces 295 horsepower. Not bad, Jaguar. Not bad at all.
The electric powertrain occupies the same space as the original six-cylinder engine. The E-Type Zero maintains the same weight distribution and handling characteristics of the original roadster.
From afar the E-Type Zero looks like the stunning vintage vehicle that it is. No wonder Enzo Ferrari claimed it to be "the most beautiful car in the world."
However, don't expect the E-Type Zero to be available at your local Jaguar dealership. This baby is a one-off labor of love.
