Head back in time with John Lennon's Rolls-Royce Phantom

John Lennon's Phantom V is one of the most instantly recognizable Rolls-Royce cars on the planet.

It arrived to Lennon in 1965 sporting a Valentine Black paint job.

The interior was customized thoroughly, with a double bed replacing the rear seat.

The interior also packed a refrigerator, a television and a record player hooked up to a custom sound system.

It wasn't until the release of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" that Lennon had this flower power paint job added on.

The work was done at JP Fallon, a coachbuilder from Surrey.

The car followed Lennon to the US in 1970.

It was eventually put in storage, after being loaned out for use by other musical acts.

It was donated to the Royal British Columbia Museum in 1977.

And now, it'll be on display when Rolls-Royce brings out the eighth-generation Phantom.
