LAS VEGAS -- Chevrolet Senior Vice President and tech show host Morgan Webb present the new App Shop feature at CES 2014.
Chevrolet adds a new icon called Apps to the MyLink interface, letting owners select new apps to install in their vehicles.
At launch, available apps will include NPR, TuneIn radio, Glympse, and Priceline.
MyLink's text messaging feature works with more Android phones now, as more support the messaging protocol. Drivers can send prewritten text messages presented as large buttons on the display.
The Weather Channel app uses a simplified interface compared to the equivalent smartphone app.
The TuneIn interface shows large, easy-to-read buttons, suitable for use while driving.
The Priceline app is a surprise newcomer, letting drivers quickly find local hotel deals.
The Vehicle Diagnostics app not only shows recent and needed maintenance, but lets the driver schedule a dealer appointment at the push of a button.
