Meet Gogoro's Smartscooter
Gogoro's first product is the battery-powered Smartscooter, designed with the same kind of principles that led to the creation of sleek HTC phones.
If looks could kill
Gogoro is attempting to add some sex appeal to the Smartscooter, which is carved out of a sheet of aluminum.
Custom-designed parts
To ensure the most efficient and sleekest-looking motor scooter, the Gogoro team custom designed many parts. The company runs a 256,000 square-foot facility that builds the parts itself.
Not just smart in name
The Smartscooter features 30 sensors on the bike to detect motion, optimal driving speed or when you have an accident.
Total control on the phone
Drivers can check on their Smartscooter from their smartphone app, and the app even allows them to tweak the look and color of the dashboard.
The GoStation
Gogoro plans to deploy GoStations with batteries around a city. If a scooter is low on power, the driver can drop by and exchange the battery for a fresh one. Rather than pay for gas, the company plans to charge a monthly fee.
Sturdy GoStation kiosks
The GoStations are designed to be as large as a vending machine, but tough enough to withstand abuse. Drivers with a Gogoro account utilize an NFC key to unlock a fresh battery.
Time to burn rubber
The folks at Gogoro know that people won't be interested unless the Smartscooter can perform. The company boasts that the scooter accelerates faster than anything in its class.
