Fred Astaire's 1927 Rolls-Royce Phantom helps usher in the latest Roller
Rolls-Royce is highlighting famous models from its past before it unveils the future of luxury. Here's a look at the first one.
The first Phantom that Rolls-Royce will use to celebrate the arrival of the eight-generation Phantom is this 1927 limousine.
This was Fred Astaire's runabout, used to skip around town on nights out.
There's a speaking tube in the back so Astaire could talk to the driver, because as you can see, this thing is huge.
The coachwork came from the London-based Hooper in the 1920s.
In the 1930s, New York-based Inskip added even posher interior elements.
Of course it comes with a flask -- would you expect anything else?
The back of this Phantom contains a Louis Vuitton luggage bag big enough for longer trips.
And you thought your Louis Vuitton bag was special.
