Electric Ford Mustang Cobra Jet 1400 is here to silently rip through quarter miles
No gasoline, but lots of power.

The Ford Mustang Cobra Jet 1400 is a fast thing.
It clocked 168 mph in the quarter mile.
Oh, and it did the quarter mile in just 8.27 seconds.
Yeah, it's fast.
Ford announced the times as it prepares to run the car for the first time publicly at the NHRA US Nationals.
It may look like a Mustang, but it's a different beast.
Four electric motors create 1,502 peak horsepower.
Seriously, the instant torque has to be incredible. Ford had to really study the chassis setup to make sure everything remained A-OK.
See? Electric cars don't have to be boring.
