Fiat fights for the Empire with its Stormtrooper 500e concept (pictures)

LOS ANGELES -- At the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show, Fiat brought this Stormtrooper 500e concept to the stage, joining Star Wars fandom in advance of "The Force Awakens" coming this December, and aligning itself with the Empire.

The Stormtrooper 500e concept is based on the First Order Legion Stormtrooper armor, and features this logo prominently around the car.

The front of the concept nicely captures the design of the Stormtrooper helmet, owing to the shape of the 500e model itself.

The Stormtrooper 500e concept was designed by Garage Italia Customs, an Italian design shop that has done extensive work with Fiat vehicles.

Heavily tinted windows echo the look of the Stormtrooper helmet visor.

Even if these headlights were blasters, they probably couldn't hit anything.

The 500e is Fiat's electric version of its iconic little runabout, able to go about 87 miles when fully charged.

Even the wheel hubs get the Stormtrooper treatment, while LEDs light up the underside of the car.

Fiat says the interior includes the Star Wars logo and a dashboard painted white.

The rear profile loses some of the Star Wars detail, as Stormtrooper helmets don't have a hatchback.

As an electric, the 500e is a zero-emission vehicle, charging up its lithium-ion battery from the grid.

The 500e logo gets highlighted by a row of LEDs under the back of the concept.

As a custom concept, Fiat hasn't announced any availability for the Stormtrooper 500e, but your local custom shop or a few cans of spray paint may do the trick.
