Eclipse chasing in the Porsche Panamera 4S

If you find yourself eclipse-chasing, you could do a lot worse than the Porsche Panamera. 

The giant panels in the panoramic roof aid in sun-spotting. 

And the trunk has a ton of space for the most bulky of equatorial mounts. 

We fit the left scope, a 130mm Orion in there with no problem. 

But the other one would have easily fit as well. 

During setup, the Panamera made for a nice base-station, keeping things cool and even charging up devices. 

The sky was clear before the eclipse but...

...clouds meant we had to go scrambling. 

Sadly this was as clear as we would get. 

We experienced totality from here. 

We did get a few clear snaps before the cloud rolled in. 

But this is as good as we could get from the event itself... blame the clouds!
