Chevrolet unveils the 2016 Malibu in pictures

This is it! The 2016 Chevrolet Malibu.

The new styling is a huge step forward over the current car.

It's nearly 4 inches longer, yet has lost some 300 pounds compared to the current generation.

That lighter weight helps to boost fuel efficiency, whether you opt for the 1.5- or 2.0-liter motors.

There's also a new 1.8-liter hybrid system, with Volt technology.

A variety of trims will be offered, of course, starting from basic leading up to luxurious.

H is for Hybrid, and that's good enough for Chevrolet.

The new interior is far more modern than the outgoing car.

Heated leather seats will be an option, though GM isn't talking pricing on any model just yet.
