BMW's M Performance SEMA cars are rolling parts catalogs
BMW is once again bringing its wheeled collection of upgrade parts to SEMA. Let's put on our night-vision goggles and attempt to figure out what these teasers portend.
This one very clearly shows (loosely speaking) one of the whole cars that will be lousy with BMW M Performance upgrades.
Is this the same car, or is there a second one? Who knows -- I can't see a damn thing!
These cars will have wheels. Wheels that are, presumably, larger and more expensive than the car's original equipment.
Want some neat, thin vinyl stripes, or perhaps a carbon-fiber rear lip spoiler?
Maybe you want some thick stripes and an actual wing, instead? You can have that, too.
Because sound is hard to come by in new, turbocharged cars, BMW's built a performance muffler to boost the burbles.
Same muffler (presumably), different shot. It's fun to see automakers being creative with exhaust designs.
You can have some...side sills, too, I guess? I think that's what this one is about.
Is the standard carbon-fiber trim not enough for you? Do you want more? Pony up the scratch and get as tacky as you like!
Pro tip: Carbon fiber isn't really doing its job when it's adding weight to vehicles by way of fancy looking trim overlays.
Here's another wheel, which will likely be just as expensive and large as the one from several slides back in the gallery.
Carbon ceramic brakes are already options on BMW's M vehicles, so I'm assuming this is another wheel shot. I hope the lighting will be much better at SEMA.
