BMW brings both efficiency and performance to Geneva (pictures)

BMW's bringing its M badging to its 12-cylinder-equipped 7 Series for the first time with the M760Li.

The M760Li touts a 600-horsepower, 12-cylinder engine.

That'll provide enough forward thrust to achieve 60 mph in less than 4 seconds -- in the largest vehicle the brand makes!

The wheels will come wrapped with high-end Michelin Pilot Super Sports, which are typically reserved for proper sports cars.

Of course, there'll be plenty of V12 badging both inside and outside.

On the other side of the spectrum, the 740e iPerformance is all about efficiency.

The iPerformance name is all new, and will be used on future plug-in hybrids to point out the shared tech between these core models and BMW's i sub-brand.

Along with a new name, iPerformance models will feature blue accents, a la the i8.

No hidden charging ports here -- the plug goes into the front fender, just behind the wheel.

The eDrive function will keep your vehicle operating on battery power alone for as long as possible.

While the M2 isn't new, the accessories it's packing are.

BMW's M Performance parts catalog will include several new bits for the brand's littlest sports coupe.

Because who doesn't want carbon-fiber mirror caps?

As one might expect, a sports exhaust will be included on the list of available upgrades.

Buyers will be able to choose between metal and carbon-fiber finishes for the exhaust tips.

BMW's special-edition i8 doesn't add anything in the way of performance.

Instead, this special edition is all about aesthetics, sporting a unique red exterior.

The i8 Protonic Red Edition also features matte-gray trim to add some contrast.

This is the first of several special-edition i8s to come to market.

The interior promises red stitching and carbon fiber and ceramic trim bits.
