Bentley released photos and a few details of its Hybrid Concept ahead of the Beijing auto show later this month.
Bentley, known for luxury cars rivaling those from Rolls-Royce, debuts a plug-in hybrid concept at the Beijing International Automobile Exhibition.
The Hybrid Concept is based on the flagship Mulsanne model.
The stock Mulsanne weighs close to three tons.
It appears Bentley kept the Mulsanne's 6.75-liter twin turbo V-8 engine, and added the hybrid system.
The Hybrid Concept includes the ability to charge its batteries from the grid, and can travel up to 31 miles on electricity alone.
Along with Hybrid badges, Bentley fits the Hybrid Concept with copper colored accents to call out the electric drivetrain.
Given its hybrid drivetrain, the Hybrid Concept likely uses regenerative braking.
These headlights look like LEDs, a touch that would make sense for the Hybrid Concept.
The interior appears to lack none of the wood, metal, and leather included in production Bentley coachwork.
A drive mode dial on the console includes a setting marked E Drive.
As in other hybrid cars, the tachometer gets replaced with a power gauge.
An electric charge gauge joins the fuel gauge next to the clock.
Another hybrid badge in the car reminds the driver of the car's drivetrain.
