Audi shows off more aerodynamic, high-tech A4 model (pictures)
Audi released specifications and photos of the 2017 A4 model today, showing a design that comports with other new models in the range, and a wealth of new technology.
Audi released photos and some details of its new A4 model, to be launched in the US as a 2017 model year vehicle.
Audi will offer the A4 worldwide with a choice of three gasoline and two diesel engines, although only expect one of each to be offered in the US.
Audi notes that it improved the aerodynamics of the A4 model and lightened it, achieving improved fuel economy.
The A4 will be offered in front-wheel-drive and Quattro all-wheel-drive versions.
The Virtual Cockpit feature puts a large LCD in front of the driver, which can show navigation and other information along with its virtual gauges.
Audi also will offer a range of advanced driver assistant features based on radar and a forward-facing camera.
Audi's S-tronic transmission uses two computer-controlled clutches to engage and disengage gears. In the A4, it replaces the previous continuously variable transmission.
Rear seating looks ample in this photograph.
Audi showed off this Avant, or wagon, version of the A4, which will be initially offered in International markets. The US is likely to see an Allroad variant based on this body style.
The Avant's aerodynamics fall below that of the sedan, but they are still improved over the previous A4 wagon.
