Transformers Bumblebee Camaro concept
LAS VEGAS -- Chevrolet and General Motors reinforced their ties to the Michael Bay "Transformers" franchise with a trio of movie cars starting with this Chevy Camaro concept that transforms into the giant robot Bumblebee with the aid of movie magic (and probably hundreds of computers).
Transformers Rally Sonic RS
Show cars are usually kept impeccably clean, but this Rally Sonic RS from the upcoming "Transformers 4" film is covered in dirt. It's possible that this car will portray either Skids or the appropriately named Mudflap in the film.
Transformers Corvette Stingray
In the previous "Transformers" film, the character Sideswipe transformed into a Corvette concept. It's possible that this green C7 Corvette is an updated version of that character.
Chevrolet Stingray Atlantic Concept
The styling of the Chevrolet Stingray Convertible is upgraded with the debut of the Atlantic Concept. The Corvette's 6.2-liter power train is essentially untouched.
Corvette Genuine Accessories
However, aside from a few carbon fiber exterior parts and blade silver and fusion gray paint, the Atlantic Concept's upgrade list reads like a Corvette Genuine Accessories catalog. The suede-wrapped interior package does look nice, though.
Corvette Stingray Pacific Concept
The Pacific Concept is based on the Corvette Stingray Coupe and is finished with torch red paint.
Contrasting black and carbon
The red paint is contrasted with carbon fiber body panels, a carbon fiber removable roof panel, and a Z51 rear spoiler.
Z51 package
Like the Atlantic Concept, the Pacific relies heavily on Corvette Genuine Accessories. A Z51 performance package upgrades the eLSD, brakes, cooling, lubrication, suspension, and more.
Carbon Stingray
Even the Stingray badge on the front fender is finished in carbon fiber.
Staggered wheels
Corvette Genuine Accessories satin-black wheels are 19 inches up front and 20 inches out back.
Gran Turismo Corvette Stingray
In celebration of Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo series' 15th anniversary, Chevrolet built this matte-blue Corvette Stingray, which makes an appearance in the game.
Rear spoiler
The vehicle features a unique rear spoiler and satin-silver detailing.
Rear ducts
The ducting on the rear fenders features a more pronounced silver surround.
Yellow-tinted headlamps
The headlamps are tinted yellow. When multiple vehicle classes race together, tinting the headlights allows drivers to easily tell whether the car behind them is in the same class.
Gran Turismo simulators
Nearby, a pair of Gran Turismo racing simulators allowed drivers to hop behind the wheel of the Corvette and hit the track.
Chevrolet SS Jeff Gordon Concept
Customized by Nascar star Jeff Gordon, this Chevrolet SS' satin-red paint emphasizes the muscular body of the sport sedan.
6.2-liter V-8
Under the hood is a 6.2-liter LS3 engine that growls through a one-off Borla Performance Exhaust and sends 415 horsepower, 415 pound-feet of torque through its six-speed automatic transmission on its way to the rear wheels.
Number 24
Aftermarket springs lower the chassis over 20-inch wheels. Look closely at the door and you'll see Gordon's #24 graphics ghosted into the paint.
MyLink and Bose
Inside, the cabin has been retrimmed with carbon fiber and suede, but the MyLink infotainment and Bose audio system are untouched.
Performance Sonic Concept
This Chevrolet Sonic concept features an all-around upgrade. The turbo, exhaust, suspension, intake, and brakes have been modified for increased performance. Bright lemon-peel-yellow paint with blue graphics and wheels finish the show-car look.
Chevrolet Spark EV Tech Performance Concept
This Chevrolet Spark EV has been upgraded with eye-catching graphics, a backlit bowtie badge, custom wheels, and more.
Upgraded powertrain
The half-shafts have been strengthened and the battery electric algorithms have been tweaked. I suppose Chevrolet didn't think that the 450 pound-feet of torque from the electric motor needed any more upgrades.
Performance Camaro V-6 Concept
Another showcase of Chevrolet Genuine Accessories, this Camaro V-6 has been upgraded with a Borla exhaust, SS Brembo brakes, a performance suspension, and other features.
Styling upgrades
The V-6 engine is untouched, but there are plenty of interior and exterior styling upgrades.
Performance Camaro V-8 Concept
Of course, there's a V-8 example nearby. This concept features metallic paint with a matte finished hood and matching stripes. The aero package is finished in satin black and completes the mean look.
ZL1 and Z/28 parts
A list of ZL1 and Z/28 upgrades should boost the performance.
Chevrolet Camaro Z/28
The Camaro Z/28 is revived at SEMA. Chevrolet aimed to make this the fastest, most track-capable, Camaro ever. It's even street-legal.
7.0-liter V-8
Under the hood, you'll find a 7.0-liter V-8 engine that sends 505 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque through its Tremec TR6060 manual transmission. It's sure to be quick in a straight line, but Chevrolet is also claiming 1.08g of cornering acceleration and 1.5g of braking deceleration.
