Alfa Romeo Stelvio looks great in the snow

The Stelvio is Alfa Romeo's first SUV.

It's based the same platform as the Guilia, and they share the same wheelbase.

We're not used to seeing an Alfa this tall.

The Stelvio is a softer-looking alternative to many SUVs.

The front is unmistakably Alfa, with its trademark grille leading the charge.

The car is named after the Stelvio Pass, the highest road in Italy and one of the best driving roads in the world.

Although the car looks compact from the outside, it doesn't sacrifice internal space.

That badge is quite lovely.

The Q4 designation indicates that this crossover packs all-wheel drive.

It might be an SUV, but it really does deserve that badge.

Normally, the car will send all of the power to the rear wheels, giving it a more sporty feel.

The name gives the car a lot to live up to, but the handling rises to the challenge.

The interior is sparse but comfortable.

As with other new Alfa vehicles, there's a mode selector for the driver to play with

The transmission can (and should) be manually operated. The shift paddles have a wonderfully metallic feel to them and are a joy to use.
