Acura revives a Legend for Luda' at SEMA (pictures)

Acura's newest vehicle and one of its oldest shared the stage at the 2015 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

The 2017 NSX is a low-slung hybrid supercar that we've seen making the auto show circuit for years now.

It features a midengine hybrid V-6 engine putting power to the rear wheels and a pair of electric motors at the front axle giving it all-wheel control.

The NSX is Acura's newest model, but the automaker also had one of its oldest on hand at the big show in the desert.

Also on display at the show was a "slightly better than stock" 1993 Acura Legend belonging to rapper Chris "Ludacris" Bridges.

The Legend was Luda's first car. It has appeared on one of his album covers and he claims that at least three of his albums were written while riding in the car. Surprisingly, Ludacris kept the car mostly stock until it was involved in an accident recently and totalled by his insurance company.

Acura contacted Ludacris and offered to totally restore the car to its factory-fresh condition, rebuilding the car from the ground up.

The interior and exterior have been completely restored to showroom condition. Looking around inside the cabin makes me nostalgic.

Of course, this is the SEMA Show, so bone stock won't do. Acura and customizer Galpin Auto Sports have made a few improvements to the Legend, including a new Pioneer and Alpine audio system.

The wheels have been replaced with 18-inch Rays wheels and the ride has been lowered by 2 inches thanks to an H&R spring swap.

Between the spokes you can see that the brakes have also been upgraded to a Wilwood six-piston stoppers.

Acura also mixed up a custom Warm Cashmere paint with an Ice Pearl diamond flake mixed in, which is a modern interpretation of the original color.

Acura didn't come all the way to Vegas to show off a stock supercar and a 20-year-old sedan, so it also pulled the wraps off of a custom 2016 Acura ILX.

Inside, the car sees a Katzkin leather upgrade with contrast yellow stitching.

The body has been coated with Sunburst Yellow metallic paint that plays off of the light amazingly in person.

A custom rear lip, finished in contrasting Shark Grey, has an asymmetrical design that integrates the dual-tip exhaust on one side and a rear fog light on the other.

The rear spoiler and front splitter are also custom jobs sourced by Galpin.

Matte, brushed smoked-finish ADV1 wheels fill the arches with their 19-inch diameter rims. The Pirelli P Zero run flats are wide and thin rubber that meets the road.

Performance modifications are limited to a Borla exhaust and RS-R Sports coilovers. The 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine has been left stock as a rock.

Designed to complement Ludacris' '93 Legend, the Galpin ILX will be given away to a deserving recipient via the Ludacris Foundation.

Acura also showed off a version of the 2016 ILX outfitted with Acura Genuine Accessories that can be purchased at your local dealership.

The trunk lid is bedecked with a small lip spoiler and the bumper below features a small applique.

All four corners and the side sills have been augmented with an aero kit.

Eighteen-inch "diamond cut" wheels and LED foglamps round out the exterior modification.

Personally, I think the kit makes the ILX's already angular design a bit too busy.
