The new Mercedes-AMG C43 builds on the already impressive fifth-generation C-Class with more performance and technology than ever before.
Gone is the old twin-turbo V6 from before; it's been replaced by a 2.0-liter inline-4 with a single turbo.
Thanks to 48-volt mild hybridization, an electric-assist motor on the turbocharger and excellent AMG hand-built craftsmanship, the new and smaller engine makes more power and torque than before.
Output is stated at 402 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque before the mild hybrid system adds an extra 13 ponies during short bursts.
A nine-speed automatic transmission is standard, as is 4Matic all-wheel drive.
That all-wheel drive system features a fixed and rear-biased 31:69 torque split.
A standard adaptive suspension and rear wheel steering help boost handling and grip.

In the US, we only get the sedan, but the C43 is also available as a wagon in European markets. Jealous? I certainly am.
