2023 BMW iX M60: More Money, More Power

You won't hear me say this often, but think twice before splurging on the more powerful variant of the BMW iX.

The 2023 BMW iX M60 steps up to 610 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque in its Sport mode with launch control active.

The dual-motor EV features a more aggressive M Sport front bumper that I think works better with BMW's new tall kidney grille (though it's still an eyeful).

The M60 makes standard the 21-inch wheels, performance tires and air suspension that are optional on the iX xDrive50.

Also standard are M Sport brakes with blue calipers and rear wheel steering.

The iX M60's air suspension and stabilizer bars have been retuned for a firmer, more dynamic ride -- too dynamic, some might say.

The additional power and stickier tires also cost the EV a bit of range. Expect between 274 and 288 miles depending on the equipped wheels.

That's a significant drop from the xDrive50's 305 to 324-mile estimate.

The 2023 BMW iX M60 starts at $109,895 including the $995 destination charge -- a $24,800 premium over the xDrive50 spec.
