2022 Yamaha XSR900: The '80s Are Back
The XSR casts off its cafe racer roots and goes full-on 1980s grand prix bike.
The 2022 Yamaha XSR900 may be based on another model, but it's a unique bike.
It bails on the cafe racer styling of the 1950s, '60s and '70s upon which previous generations leaned so heavily.
Instead it looks back at the early 1980s era of grand prix racing for inspiration.
The look straddles the line between modern naked bike and unabashed love letter to a great era in racing.
The XSR900 is powered by a 117-horsepower inline-3 that also makes 69 pound-feet of torque.
It's got fully adjustable suspension and very sticky Bridgestone tires, too.
These factors combine to make the XSR a truly spectacular bike for fast canyon roads.
At the same time, it's still comfortable and civilized enough to use as a daily rider.
The 2022 XSR900 will retail for $9,999 before dealer fees.
Look for it at your local Yamaha dealer starting now.
