2022 GMC Terrain: Rugged-Looking and Economical

The GMC Terrain looks nice, but it's pretty ordinary.

There's nothing special about this SUV. 

The interior is nice enough, with some pleasant soft plastics and an excellent infotainment system. 

There's plenty of space in the Terrain's large backseat. 

The split rear backrest easily folds down, transforming the Terrain into a veritable shipping container. 

This is a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that is, at best, tepid.

That base engine is regrettably buzzy and not very responsive, packing just 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. 

AT4 versions of the Terrain feature more rugged styling, unique interior materials and plenty of tech.
