With upgrades aimed at improving off-road performance, the Trail Boss is one of the toughest looking 2022 Chevy Silverado variants.
The pickup comes standard with the Z71 off-road package, which lifts the suspension by 2 inches on monotube shocks.
The Trail Boss features standard four-wheel drive and can be had with any of the four engine options available in the 2022 Silverado range.
This example is powered by the 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder diesel.
It makes 460 pound-feet of torque starting as low as 1,500 rpm, making it an ideal powerplant for towing and low-speed crawling.
However, the biggest change coming to all 2022 Silverado models is the overhauled interior and dashboard tech.
The pickup now features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a huge 13.4-inch Chevrolet Infotainment 3 central unit powered by Google software.
Google Maps serves as the primary navigation software and Google Assistant enables sophisticated natural voice command.
The Silverado Trail Boss also comes standard with the Chevy Safety Assist driver aid suite and can be had with optional adaptive cruise control.
However, the Super Cruise hands-free highway assist technology is only available on the top-spec High Country model.
