2020 Toyota Land Cruiser Heritage Edition: Adventure ready
Toyota adds a bit of kit and deletes a few things to make the venerable Land Cruiser ready for off-pavement trips.
To celebrate over 60 years of Land Cruiser, Toyota introduces the Heritage Edition for the 2020 model year.
The Heritage Edition features a few welcome additions and deletions that should please adventure-seekers.
Standard is a Yakima Megawarrior roof basket.
18-inch bronze forged aluminum BBS wheels are wrapped in 285/60-series Dunlop AT23 Grandtrek tires.
The third row is deleted, bringing cargo space up from 16.1 cubic feet to 53.5.
A vintage-styled badge completes the look.
Don't look for any mechanical changes, however. The old 5.7-liter V8 engine knocks out 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque and is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Lots of low-end torque combined with full-time four-wheel drive and a locking center differential means the Land Cruiser can make quick work of steep, rocky hills.
A two-speed transfer case with a terrain management system helps navigate rocks, dirt, mud and sand.
The 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser Heritage Edition goes for $87,645, excluding $1,325 for delivery.
