2020 Lexus NX 300 F-Sport: Old, but still practical

Lexus' NX 300 is on its way out the door, set to be replaced by a new model on a new platform for the 2021 model year.

But is this outgoing model, old as it is, still worth a look?

Plenty of luxury crossover shoppers seem to think so, seeing it as a reliable and practical choice.

With excellent materials used on the interior, ignorable driving dynamics and boring but not offensive styling, the NX offers a sensible alternative to what the German automakers are offering.

The NX F Sport is powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that's paired with an old-school six-speed automatic transmission.

The NX is available with both all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive, as well as with a hybrid-electric drivetrain.

Handling is acceptable and the ride is comfortable.

Like the lion's share of crossovers, you wouldn't want to take the NX far off-road.

The F Sport trim is mostly an appearance package but does offer some limited performance improvements.

The current NX sports Lexus very polarizing Spindle Grille design, though it's one of the better implementations of the aesthetic.
