2020 Hyundai Venue Denim is what more small cars should be like

The 2020 Hyundai Venue is the brand's littlest crossover, and more small cars should take notes from it.

The Venue has a funky exterior design that's 5 inches shorter than Hyundai's Kona crossover.

This is the Denim edition, which is slathered in a blue and cream jeans-inspired color scheme.

Seriously, pretty much everything is blue. Nearly all of the interior plastics and trims are color matched, something you don't see done in anything but the most luxurious vehicles.

The seats are a mix of leatherette and a sweet fabric textile, and the materials all feel high-end.

At $23,170 the Denim is the range-topping Venue, and it comes with tons of stuff like navigation and some active-safety features.

The Venue is powered by a 121-horsepower inline-four mated to a CVT automatic, which is plenty peppy.

The manual transmission and sunroof are restricted to other Venue trims, sadly.
