2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD: Making hard work easier

Chevrolet is rolling out a new Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD for the 2020 model year with fresh styling, updated drivetrains and new tech to make towing easier.

Compared to its smaller 1500 sibling, the heavy-duty versions of the Silverado wear specific sheetmetal. With the exception of the roof panel, all body panels are exclusive to the 2500 and 3500.

Out back, the beds grow with a standard box, now 6.7 inches wider and 3 inches longer, while the 8-foot long box is now 0.5-inches longer than before.

The frame of the new Silverado HDs has been beefed up to improved capability.

The Silverado 3500HD with the Duramax diesel and dual-rear-wheels can tow up to 35,500 pounds.

The updated Duramax diesel V8 engine produces 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque.

Towing is made easier thanks to a new optional camera system that offers an invisible trailer feature that stitches together multiple camera images offering drivers the ability to "see through" what they are towing.
