2020 BMW M235i Gran Coupe: The nice niche Bimmer

This is the 2020 BMW M235i Gran Coupe.

Think of it as a weird 'tweener that tries to split the difference between the 2 Series coupe and the X2 crossover.

Under this hood is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine tuned for 301 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque.

Power gets down to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. 

The all-wheel-drive system is front-based and as such there's a Torsen limited-slip differential up there.

However, the all-wheel-drive system can send 50% of the torque to the rear wheels if needed.

The 19-inch wheels are wrapped in 235/35R19 Bridgestone Potenza performance rubber.

The 2020 BMW M235i Gran Coupe starts at $46,495 including $995 for destination. However, this tester here comes in at $51,295, including destination.
