2020 Bentley Mulsanne Speed: British aristocracy in the home stretch

This is the 2020 Bentley Mulsanne Speed, and it's one of the last of its kind.

The Mulsanne's gaping lantern-eyed countenance certainly has presence, though it's arguably more imposing than it is elegant. Either way, this is what "Old Money" looks like.

The rear-drive Mulsanne Speed is about as vast -- and heavy -- as a sedan gets these days. 

This particular example costs $377,965, but hey, that includes the delivery fee, so...

It's also about as opulent as one gets inside.

This model is powered exclusively by Bentley's legendary 6.75-liter V8. That's pronounced "six-and-three-quarters," you plebe. 

In this state of tune, the twin-turbo engine provides 505 horsepower and an HD-pickup-like 752 pound-feet of torque.

0-to-60 mph for the Speed is estimated at under 5 seconds. Not bad for something that approximates the weight of the HMS Queen Elizabeth.

I'm pretty sure Mulsanne owners don't often wash their own cars, let alone at a coin-op stall.

Bentley's twin-turbo six-and-three-quarters V8 is a legend.

The Mulsanne went out of production in June, not long after its engine, which ended its record 61-year run as the longest continually produced V8 engine in the world.
