2019 Chevy Blazer looks to the Camaro for design inspiration

The last time we saw a new Chevy Blazer in showrooms was during the 2005 model year. 

For 2019, Chevy will launch an all-new Blazer crossover SUV to slot between the Equinox and Traverse. 

Unlike the old body-on-frame Blazer, the new model will be based on a unibody platform.

Compared to the Equinox and Traverse, the new Blazer possesses a little more style with a face that borrows some cues from the Camaro, sculpted sheet metal, high beltline and wheels ranging from 18 to 21 inches depending on trim level. 

The interior also borrows some inspiration from the Camaro for the dash layout featuring circular air vents.

A 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 193 horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque will be standard for the Blazer.

A more powerful 3.6-liter V6 will also be available churning out 305 horses and 269 pound-feet of twist.

Both engines will come connected to a 9-speed automatic transmission with front- or all-wheel drive.

Chevy's MyLink system controls infotainment with an 8-inch touchscreen, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The 2019 Chevy Blazer will go on sale in early 2019.
