2019 Audi Q3: A serious small luxury SUV threat

Audi released the second-generation Q3 for the 2019 model year. Unlike the original that launched in the US in 2015, it's truly all-new. 

The 2019 Q3 is a bit larger and more mature, growing 3.8 inches in length, 0.7 inch in width and 1.5 inches in height.

A more interesting look comes courtesy of a new octagonal, single-frame grille and slick LED running lights up front. 

Along with the sculpted sides, the new Audi Q3 has a sharper appearance.    

The Q3's interior is also drastically improved, with a fresh dash layout that is anything but boring. It's clean and intuitive with clearly marked switchgear.

Cabin materials like brushed aluminum and matte wood trim tastefully sprinkled throughout offer a premium feel inside the Q3.

Powering the Q3 is a familiar 2.0-liter, turbocharged I4 engine with 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque on tap.

An eight-speed automatic gearbox sends power to all four of the Q3's wheels. 

The Q3's drivetrain combo returns an EPA-estimated 19 miles per gallon in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.  

The 2019 Audi Q3, with standard all-wheel drive, begins at $34,700, not including $995 for destination.
