2018 VW Polo proves variety really is the spice of life
With NINE different engine options, including natural gas, you can have a VW Polo just about any way you like -- as long as you don't live in the US, that is.
If you like variety, you'll love the 2018 VW Polo.
There are nine different engines on offer -- one natural gas, two diesel and six gasoline.
No engine is larger than 2.0 liters, and the natural gas engine only puts out about 89 horsepower.
Every single Polo is available with a manual transmission, and only five offer something else.
Perhaps the coolest Polo of the bunch is the GTI, seen here.
With 197 horsepower on tap, it's a proper hot hatch, albeit a tiny one.
As you'd expect, the Polo GTI carries a whole bunch of GTI badges, as well as the ubiquitous plaid cloth seats.
Autonomous emergency braking is standard on the Polo, and adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring are optional.
LED headlights, wireless phone charging and active dampers are also included on the list of optional equipment.
If you want one in the US, tough luck -- you'll have to wait 25 years until they're eligible for import.
