2018 Volkswagen T-Roc is a funky ute for urban commutes

The 2018 Volkswagen T-Roc is a subcompact crossover meant to slot beneath the Tiguan.

In Europe, it will be offered with six different engines -- three gas and three diesel.

Front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is optional.

Yes, it can be had with a manual transmission.

Standard safety features include autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist and a post-collision system that prevents a rear-ending from turning into a chain reaction.

Adaptive cruise control is optional, as is a self-parking system.

Inside, there's a big splash of color on the instrument panel.

There's a big ol' screen in the center of the dashboard and a second, also-large, screen replaces the gauge cluster.

It's still unclear if the T-Roc will come to the US or not.

It launches in Europe this November.
