Mercedes' GLC Coupé has been given a gentle going over by the team at AMG. Does it feel like a proper AMG? Or is it just a badge and some more go?
Welcome to the 2018 Mercedes-AMG GLC43 Coupé.
It's not exactly pretty, is it? That roofline means you can't see too well out of the back at all.
And the wide but short windshield doesn't help forward visibility either.
You do get a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 with 362 bhp though.
0-62 mph takes 4.9 seconds, and it'll top out at 155 mph.
In a straight line it's quite fun, but less so in the corners.
Sport+ mode does up the fun quotient a little, but it's hardly a sports car.
The interior is pretty enough, but the infotainment screen looks like a design afterthought.
The engine sounds like a swarm of angry bees. Bees that crackle and pop if you overrun.
It's down on space, looks and driving enjoyment. But it is quick and has an AMG badge on its bottom -- and that's enough for some.
