2018 Lexus LC 500 is a worthy luxury flagship

Lexus engineers and designers did a great job bringing the LF-LC concept to production in the LC 500.

The LC 500h features a new multistage hybrid system that essentially adds a four-speed shift device to work together with the continuously variable transmission to provide 10 different "gear" selections.

The LC 500h's V6 hybrid drivetrain produces a net system output of 354 horsepower.

Lexus says the LC 500h can hit 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds.

The LC's design borrows some styling inspiration from the LFA supercar.

The LC 500 is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine producing 471 horsepower, and 398 pound-feet of torque.

For the LC 500, Lexus quotes a 0-60 mph time of 4.4 seconds.

The LC comes standard with 20-inch wheels, but 21-inchers are available as an option.

Connected to the V8 engine in the LC 500 is a new 10-speed automatic gearbox.
