2019 Honda CR-V is one of our favorite compact crossovers

The 2018 Honda CR-V is available now, priced from $25,245.

The base LX model uses a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated I4 with 184 horsepower.

EX, EX-L and Touring models get a 1.5-liter turbocharged I4 engine with 190 horsepower.

With the 1.5T engine, the CR-V is the most fuel-efficient compact crossover (excluding hybrid- and diesel-powered competitors).

With front-wheel drive, the CR-V 1.5T returns an EPA-estimated 28 mpg city and 34 mpg highway.

Honda Sensing driver assistance tech is standard on all but the base LX model.

Honda Sensing bundles technologies like adaptive cruise control, pre-collision warning and braking, and lane-keep assist.

As for onboard tech, base CR-Vs have a 5-inch touchscreen with only a backup camera.

Higher-trim CR-Vs get a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard.
