An all-new third-generation BMW X3 SUV will launch for the 2018 model year.
For the first time, a more performance-focused X3 M40i model will be available.
A 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine will power the X3 M40i making 355 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque.
An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard on all 2018 X3 models.
BMW says the X3 M40i can hit 60 mph in 4.6 seconds, which is impressive for a 4,277 pound SUV.
All 2018 X3s feature a tow capacity of 4,400 pounds.
The X3 xDrive30i will serve as the base model in the US and is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
The base engine will feature 248 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.
While not as quick as the M40i, the X3 xDrive30i will still hit 60 mph in 6 seconds.
The 2018 BMW X3 will officially go on sale in dealers on November 11.
